John W Blehm and his wife, Kathy, live in Birch Run, Michigan.  They married in 1973, a year after graduating from high school.  They have three children, Sherrie, John II and David, plus five really GREAT grandchildren.

John is a lifetime member of the Ameraucana Breeders Club.  He joined in 1982 and received its Life Time Achievement Award in 2001.  John has held club offices, including President, Secretary/Treasurer and District Director. He is also a member of Chantecler Fanciers International.

John’s main hobby with poultry is as a breeder of chickens, with continuous improvement in mind.  He also enjoys operating Chick Hatchery and attending a couple poultry shows each year.

J&K Media is the home based advertising business that John and Kathy operate.  Kathy takes care of sales while John takes care of graphic design, printing and bookkeeping.

Over the years they’ve had several business ventures.  Kathy had A Touch of Lace making and selling battenburg lace apparel.  John is a Patternmaker by trade and owned and operated Reliable Pattern & Design.  Together they owned and operated WKNX radio for over 10 years.  Their latest venture, Fowl Stuff, is manufacturing and marketing chicken egg nest boxes featuring a unique plastic design that came from many decades of experience with poultry.
