Our birds are shipped via the United States Postal Service, ensuring safe and timely delivery. We process orders in the order they are received, and each order is handled with the utmost care and precision.

 

Can I make changes to my order after it’s placed?

Due to the nature of live poultry and the precision required in scheduling, once an order is placed, it cannot be modified. Should changes be necessary, we kindly ask that you cancel the original order and place a new one. Please be aware that the original ship date may no longer be guaranteed. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure the best possible service and care for your flock.

 

Why has my ship date been rescheduled?

At Chick Hatchery, our process begins long before the eggs are laid, requiring us to make careful estimations regarding hatch outcomes. While we fulfill the majority of our scheduled ship dates, nature occasionally calls for adjustments. If your ship date is moved, you will be promptly informed. Rest assured, this is done to ensure that the birds you receive are of the highest quality, and we thank you for your patience and trust in our process.

 

How are my chicks shipped, and how do they stay safe during transit?

Our chicks are shipped exclusively through the United States Postal Service, with great care taken to ensure their wellbeing during transit. Newly hatched chicks are sustained by the nutrients from their yolk sac for the first few days of life, allowing them to arrive healthy and ready to thrive. Upon their arrival, it’s essential that you have their brooder prepared with warmth, food, and water to welcome them into their new home.

 

Do you ship internationally?

At this time, Chick Hatchery proudly serves only customers within the United States, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of care and delivery.

 

Do customers pay for the shipping of baby chicks?

Yes, shipping and handling fees are applied to most chick packages. This fee covers not only postage but also specialized packaging and climate-controlled delivery trucks. The cost is calculated automatically at checkout for online orders, ensuring a smooth and effortless experience.

 

Is there a guarantee for the sexing of female chicks?
We offer a 90% accuracy guarantee for sexed female chicks. In the rare event that this threshold is not met, we will happily provide a refund for any discrepancies beyond the 10% margin. Please note that this guarantee applies to chicks under 8 months of age, and claims must be submitted within this timeframe to be honored.

 

How far in advance should I place my order?
We recommend placing your order as early as possible to ensure availability. Our season typically runs from February to October, and orders can be placed starting in mid-December. We encourage customers to book their orders 2–6 weeks before their desired ship date to secure the breeds they wish. Should you have specific timing requirements, our team will make every effort to accommodate them.

 

What are the shipping costs?
At Chick Hatchery, we provide transparent shipping fees based on the quantity of birds ordered to ensure they travel safely and comfortably:

3–14 birds: $34.99
15–24 birds: $39.99
25–49 birds: $44.99
50–99 birds: $49.99
100–199 birds: $74.99
200–300 birds: $104.99

    These rates cover all necessary handling and specialized packaging to guarantee your chicks arrive in optimal condition.

     

    Do you guarantee live arrival?
    Yes, Chick Hatchery guarantees that your poultry will arrive alive and healthy. In the rare instance of loss during transit, we kindly ask that you notify us immediately so that we can arrange a refund or replacement, depending on the situation. Your satisfaction and the wellbeing of our birds are our highest priorities.

     

    What is the minimum order quantity for chicks?

    At Chick Hatchery, we require a minimum order of three birds to ensure their comfort and warmth during transit. You are welcome to choose one of each breed for variety. Please note, for orders of 15 birds or fewer, a small order fee of $15.00 will be applied. This measure guarantees that your chicks travel safely and arrive ready to thrive in their new home.

     

    How do I care for my chicks upon arrival?
    Upon receiving your chicks, it is essential to provide them with a warm, secure environment. Set up a brooder with heat lamps to maintain the proper temperature, and ensure they have immediate access to clean water and high-quality chick starter feed. A comfortable, well-prepared space will allow them to acclimate quickly and begin their journey to healthy adulthood.

     

    What should I do if my chicks arrive unhealthy?
    In the rare event that your chicks arrive in less than ideal condition, we ask that you contact our dedicated customer service team within 24 hours of delivery. We will promptly guide you through the necessary steps to address the issue and ensure your satisfaction.

     

    Can I return or exchange my chicks?
    Due to the nature of live animals, we do not accept returns or exchanges. However, should you encounter any difficulties with your order, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to assist and ensure that your experience with Chick Hatchery exceeds your expectations.

     

    What is the expected delivery time for my order?
    Delivery times may vary depending on your location, but most orders are processed and shipped within a few days. Typically, you can expect delivery within one to two weeks of placing your order.
